Win a Weekend Stay at Cambria Suites
Feb 8th, 2010 by Kristin
Back during the whirlwind that was my autumn, I made a brief stopover in Colorado en route to New York City to check out a new hotel brand called Cambria Suites. To be frank, my expectations weren’t high. The hotel of mention was located out near Denver airport, and have you stayed at many an airport hotel? Not usually (being the operative word) too fancy. Also, the company was marketing toward hipper travelers like me who might not have $300 to stay in luxury while on the road. I thought this was a polite way of saying there would be no frills. But you guys, I WAS WRONG. I loved it. It had the feel of staying in an InterContinental or comparable luxe hotel without the pricetag. Here’s an early morning (read: no makeup!) video tour of the roomy digs:
Cambria Suites in Aurora, Colorado from krysleigh on Vimeo.
My friend Jenny, her girlfriend and kid met me there, as well, and we were all blown away that you could get this for as little as $129 a night.

The downtown breakfast area was also swank, and there was an all-day coffee bar that I definitely took advantage of, thanks to my 5am flight time, whenever we’d retreat to the hotel to rest our feet.

Aurora, where this particular Cambria was located, is not too far from downtown Denver either; we rented a car and were to the 16th Street Mall within 20 minutes. There’s also something to be said for not having to get up at the crack of dawn to check into your flight; I dig that about staying out near the airport.

I cheekily asked the wonderful people at Cambria if they’d be interested in giving one of you a weekend stay to any of the properties to a reader, and they were delighted! This is a full WEEKEND people. In any of the 25 properties you choose! Truly amazing. Been looking for an excuse to escape to the Lone Star State? Always wanted to check out Paula Deen’s fine fare in Savannah? Here’s your chance. Take a look at the list of Cambria Suites across the country and leave a comment below about which one you’d pick. As always, I’ll consult Random.org to pick the winner; we like to keep things fair and square around these parts. Contest is open to anyone and everyone from now through Friday, Feb. 12, 5pm EST. You’ll get an extra entry for Tweeting this link (just let me know if you do so).

Oh, randomly pick me, please!
What a great room and great offer, too.
That is awesome! I am glad to hear that it was so nice, I tend dubious about hotels near airports, also.
I so hope I am randomly chosen, I need a getaway and we always have airfare covered (hubs works for an airline) but the hotel stays are always what holds us back.
The hotel room looks bangin’! I would definitely pick the Savannah hotel location because 1) it’s a helluva lot warmer there than it is here in Boston and 2) I’ve driven through Georgia twice and had a peek at how beautiful it is, but I’ve never gotten to stay that long!
oh awesome! i’d pick texas – i’ve never been there and it seems like a fun place to visit!
I’d love to be picked! Definitely retweeting too.
Also, I’d either pick one of the NC ones, since they’re the closest, or the Savannah one, since I’ve heard Savannah is pretty great…or maybe Baton Rouge. Heck, I’ll just be thrilled to win and get to go to a hotel for the weekend for free.
sounds amazing… please pick me I need a vacation.
i want to go back to NC! pickmepickme
re tweeted link at http://twitter.com/Stephss715/status/8817962269
oooo would love to go to the savannah location! hope i’m the random pick.
Ooh. I re-tweeted!
I’d pick Lousiana. I’ve never been and it seems like a good excuse! Or Maybe Savannah, for the same reasons. (Come on lucky #7!)
(Oops- I’m comment 10! I change my number! Come on lucky #10!!!)
NYC baby!!! I’m DYING to get back there. You know I left my heart there.
Awesome give-away chica!!!
I would love to be randomly chosen! I’m currently stuck in snowy Ohio and I would love to escape for a weekend!
The fiance and I won’t be “honeymooning” right after the wedding… but I am sure we will need some time away just the two of us after it all goes down… Savannah sounds peachy!
Ooh. This is awesome! I hope I get to win!
Tough choice between NC and ID. Parents live in Idaho, I would love to go back to Chapel Hill. Maybe Boise and then I can convince my husband to go up there and actually meet my grandma.
I’ve never heard of this brand but that looks fantastic! And I’ve always wanted to visit Savannah…
how lovely! i would pick madison, wisconsin. it is where i went to undergrad and i would adore a weekend to go back and explore one of my favorite cities.
I would love to visit the Savannah, GA location! I have only visited Savannah once, during St. Patrick’s Day. It was INSANE!!! Since that trip was only for the day, I would love to be able to spend some time exploring the beautiful city and enjoying some down-home comfort food!
I’d pick Denver since I’ve never been there!
This looks absolutely awesome!!!!!
ooh. is it weird that i’d choose idaho? i’ve heard so many great things about boise.
either idaho or savannah.
i would be delighted to go back to durham nc! i would book a flight in a heartbeat!
Kristin! I have spent the last 2 days shoveling out from under the 30 inches of snow we got over the weekend ONLY to learn that we’re in for another 6-10 inches tomorrow into Wednesday! Please…send me to a Cambria!
Cheers!
Cassidy
OOOOOO This is a fabulous giveaway! I have no idea where I would choose to go, but it would be a welcomed vacation away from all this cold!
Cheers Kristin!
Can I win this since I don’t work there anymore?!! My favorite affordable hotel!!!
Baton Rouge sounds like a perfect spring adventure from nyc. Rolling the diiiiiiice! xo
I love finding great, yet moderately priced hotel chains. Sometimes they make staying in a unfamiliar city so nice.
Am lazy (also: broke) but live in Denver…I think my husband and I could use a nice weekend away (even if it’s only 45 minutes away!)
I absolutely wouldn’t mind going back to Savannah. I spent literally four hours walking around it last October and it wasn’t nearly enough time. Plus I do love what Paula Dean can do with four sticks of butter.
oooh!!! Would love this! Maybe go to Savannah, I keep hearing fantastic things about it.
Wow! Maybe Savannah…or Florida…or Colorado…I just can’t decide.
Funny…I used to live in Aurora (now in Denver). Yes, I know what you mean about hotels near the airport! Usually, ick…but this one…cool. Bummer…next time you’re in the area, shoot me an e-mail…I’d love for you to meet Marley, my spastic Maltese. LOL
I would love to get back to my home state of GA and stay at the Savannah location. I haven’t seen those cobblestone streets in years!
I’m on my way to tweet…
This is a great giveaway! I’d choose Oklahoma City just for a bit of a local “mini vacation”
I would pick Madison, WI. Its not far from my hometown of Chicago, but just far enough away to enjoy a weekend AWAY from home!
What an amazing giveaway, thanks Kristin and Cambria! I’d pick Traverse City. Northern Michigan right at the end of winter/start of spring is beautiful
(And I tweeted to!)
Hey, I work in downtown Denver, so you were very close to me! Looks like a nice hotel for that price range for sure. Hoping you’ll pick me for a getaway to Minneapolis, where my boyfriend is from and where he’s been wanting to take me for quite some time. Thanks!
Hmmm… I have a few vacation days to use up!
Savannah or San Antonio…that is the question.
Hard to decide which location to pick! It is WINTER here so somewhere southern sounds really nice right now. Hmmm Savannah or maybe Florida….I’ve never been to Florida. A nice weekend anywhere sounds wonderful.
Nice hotel! I’d probably want to go to the Savannah one. I’ve been wanting to visit Georgia and that would be a good start to planning a trip!
I retweeted this, I need a vacation desperately. I have the winter blues big time.
My boyfriend and I would love to go to Baton Rouge! Also, I tweeted this link (https://twitter.com/kalachimera).
Maybe the Savannah one? Who cares? Everyone loves a free hotel room!
Raleigh/Durham – I need to visit the Triangle soon.
i want to win! and i want to go to Colorado!!
Hmmm… Denver or Savannah or Denver or Savannah… Decisions are hard! Especially since I’ve ever been to Idaho either…
I would pick Savannah in a heartbeat. We were there for a quick overnight on a road trip and I would love to get back.
Great idea, Kristin! I’d be hard pressed to decide between Savannah (which is one of my all-time favorite Southern cities next to Charleston, which is my absolute favorite, although I love Asheville too. Oh Lord, I hope you don’t deduct points for Comma Over-usage!) and Baton Rouge…did ya follow that stringy line of consciousness?
I’d love to win. I have always wanted to visit Savannah, GA, but I have friends in St. Paul, so the Bloomington location would be awesome as well.
North Carolina – Raleigh/Durham
Pick me! Pick me!
Count me in, please…twice
http://twitter.com/RLVT
Oooooo i would pick Dania Beach, FL. With the freezing cold here in Chicago, the only thing I can think of is sand and warm water!! Although north carolina sounds nice as well….or baton rouge??!!! Too many options! I’ll save the final decision for when/if I win
I’d pick Savannah, GA. I’ve always wanted to visit Savannah. I love anything historical and “haunted”
I need an excuse to get out of town! This would be awesome!
What a fun give away!! Sign me up!
I’d like to go to the one in Aurora, Colorado, too!
I used to live in Colorado Springs so I love to ski!
I would have to go with Savannah. I’ve never been to GA and this would be the perfect catalyst to get me there!
I would pick the Dania Beach, Florida hotel! Too many snow days in Oklahoma… need a beach fix asap!
I retweeted! It would be awesome to win a weekend in San Antonio. I’ll be visiting Texas for the first time in March over my spring break to scope out Austin as a possible place to move to. Flying into Dallas.. perhaps I could change plans and fly into San Antonio?
Since I live in Tennessee, Savannah isn’t too far away and would make a great girls weekend trip!!
i would pick San Antonio, Baton Rouge, Savanna, or Madison, all for different food-related items (tex mex, crawfish, paula, cheese!). I would LOVE to win . . . it’s been a long, cold winter in New England!
Somewhere in Colorado! Went this past October and can’t wait to go back! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
Dania Beach, FL. I could use a warm winter get-a-way.
tough decision… either San Antonio or Savannah.
I’d pick Traverse City MI – great excuse to travel back to that lovely area!! I’ve retweeted the link.
Savannah is currently high on my list. I’ve heard so many great things about it!
Easily Savannah! I tweeted your link too!! http://twitter.com/JensJourneys
Pick me! I’m but a lowly graduate student, and my husband is just getting started in his career… and we just figured out we can’t afford a vacation we both REALLY wanted to go on…. but we would love and appreciate the opportunity to get to stay for free! I pick Raleigh/Durham so we can visit a new baby cousin that was just born a few months ago!
I stayed at a really nice airport hotel in Singapore.
San Antonio sounds nice.
i would love a girl’s weekend with my bff before we both have our babies this summer. i think savannah would be wonderful!!
I’d have to go with the Savannah spot…went once a while back and only remember bits and pieces of the visit but would love to go back. =)
I would pick Savannah or Madison. I used to live in GA–I miss it! and would love to get back. I also have friends that swear by Madison and I’ve never been to Wisconsin!
I would love to get out of New Jersey for a weekend getaway in Florida! I love the snow, but this winter has been nuts, with more snow on the way!
This is how much of a ‘new mom with no money’ I am, because I would choose North Carolina, Raleigh location….which is like 25 minutes from my house as it is. But do you realize how amazing a weekend at a hotel with my husband would be while we leave our 3 month old at home with Nana and Grandpa??? I really hope the randomizer loves me…..
Looks like a nice place for a semi-resonable price. Too bad they aren’t in South Africa. Hey, but CO isn’t too far away.
Wonder what ever happen to the drink thing I won way back when.
The Cambria Suites in Fort Lauderdale has great packages for anyone that is sailing on any of the cruise lines out of Fort Lauderdale or anyone that is flying out of the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale. Great park and cruise/fly packages available at this brand new hotel! They are also offering a wonderful Valentine’s Day package. Check it out at http://www.cambriasuitesfortlauderdale.com.
Great new addition to the Fort Lauderdale hotel market!!!
Madison, WI, is probably what JB would pick. I’d prefer Minneapolis-St. Paul. Especially if I could coordinate with tickets to PHC.
I would love a free weekend! I would stay at the Bloomington, MN location for my husband and mine’s anniversary!
I’d pick San Antonio! Wonderful city and checking out the hotel website the property there looks fantastic.
I’d pick San Antonio too! I’ve never been but I’ve heard amazing things! Viva San Antonio!
I’d have to say Savannah!! I’ve always wanted to visit and the hotel looks awesome!
I’d got with Raliegh at the moment. I think I’d normally pick CO – but while I’m staring out my office window at the snow that hasn’t stopped (and won’t stop) falling for the past 2 days… I can’t imagine choosing to go somewhere else with snow!
I would most definitely pick Savannah, GA! I am in dire need of a vacation , and a free hotel stay would be just the push to get me out of here!
Ooh, Savannah, GA is on my must visit list for this year! *crosses fingers*
This hotel looks great! Thanks to them for this awesome giveaway! I think I’d choose the Georgia hotel…I could use at least a smidge of warmth and a break from all the snow we’ve gotten here in DC.
Definitely Denver. I’ve always loved the city, but more importantly, the skiing. When we moved to New York, my husband was crazy psyched to spend the winter skiing, but due to schedules and finances, we have yet to be able to go. Skiing in Denver would be the best “Too late to be considered a Valentine’s Day present but not soon enough to count for your birthday” present ever!
Raleigh/Durham! Perfect distance for a weekend getaway! Thanks!!
I would pick Colorado because I’ve never been there. That place is indeed gorgeous for just a great deal. Thanks for sharing with us Kristin!
It would be a close call between Denver and Savannah… I’ve wanted to travel to both places forever! But I think Savannah would have to win out.. .those weeping willows are gorgeous!
(Also tweeted – http://twitter.com/asteriskmouth/status/8833214866)
I would probably go to the Savannah location- perfect distance for a weekend getaway! Awesome giveaway!
PS. I tweeted about your giveaway! I am @kme211
Awesome giveaway! I’d pick the San Antonio location, I’ve been dying to go there.
Ah! What a lovely hotel. It’s a tough call. I’m stuck between Denver or Savannah – both places, I’ve never been but would so love to!
Cambria looks awesome! Please randomly choose me
I think it’d have to be Fort Collins or Denver for a mini-break . . . or maybe Madison to eat my weight in cheese curds . . .
Ooh, tough call between picking Columbus, Ohio to see family or Raleigh-Durham so I could stay somewhere nicer than usual on my next work trip.
Oooh, I definitely pick the Savannah, Georgia one! I love Savannah!
i’d love to win a weekend in san antonio! we’ve been thinking about getting out of town (out of nyc) for a long weekend, and this would definitely help…
As lame as it is, I’d pick the one in Noblesville, IN because it’s only 15 min. from my house, and I could really use a vacation without having to pay for a vacation.
I would pick Boise, Idaho. I miss the mountains! I need mountains!
Can’t argue with that offer, can you?
I think my comment disappeared- not double posting on purpose! I would love to go to Boise in the winter- I miss the snow.
How fun! I’d pick Denver – my best friend lives in Loveland and we could have a great girls’ weekend in Denver.
I’d pick Florida! Anything to escape the midwest for a weekend.
Well, I was going to go to Savannah for St. Patty’s Day and stay in a hostel – but this would be WAY more comfortable!
Also tweeted it!
http://twitter.com/jlevinrector/status/8857003501
I think I’d have to go with Savannah!
I’d pick Savannah. The travel budget is already teetering on the brink (in Feb. eek!) and with a free room within driving distance it’s a weekend I could enjoy guilt-free! (Well, maybe, I was born Catholic, and guilt is my middle name.) Plus I’ve never been, and I love old houses and southern food.
I would love love love to go to Colorodo! or Savannah for that matter…
I would choose the San Antonio, TX location. Haven’t spent time in SA since 2005. We took a random getaway for our last anniversary together before our daughter was born. SA is a great weekend retreat!
Oh so in need of a vacation! I would pretty much pick Columbus, Ohio because my fiance has been dying to go there.
What a great giveaway!
I need a getaway more then you know. I’d go to San Antonio, TX or Savannah Georgia. I was supposed to move to TX last year but my life got all mixed up so I’d love to at least take a trip!
This looks lovely! I was just in Denver last weekend and would love to go again soon!
At this moment, I would choose Dania Beach, FL, because we have had too much snow and cold in KY this year and I need some sun!!
My wife deserves a break so I’d take either of the North Carolina hotels so I could surprise her with a romantic weekend getaway.
Oh wait…If I’m not picked to surprise my wife, I’ll take a second chance for my brother up in the Minneapolis area. His in-laws just moved in for a few months while they rehab their house. I figure he and his wife need a break right about….now!
I would love to take a trip to San Antonio, pick me please!
Wisconsin, Georgia, or FL. I’m sure I could find a reason to take my kids on vacation at any of those places!
ooh a weekend stay out of the house would probably be a nice break for a new parent, huh?
here’s my twitter link: http://twitter.com/judiwofsy/status/8864542685
Lately I have been wanting to get down to Savannah, GA…I have heard such wonderful things about it. My fingers are crossed that I am randomly selected!
Wow, that room is gorgeous and an awesome price! I would definitely have to pick Savannah, GA. It has always been a dream destination of mine and I’d love to get away from the winter weather.
I would definitely pick the Denver, CO one. I love it out west (I live in Michigan) however, I don’t get the change to travel very often : (
I would love to go to Dania, FL. Good idea!
Fun!
Either Savannah or Colorado would be my choice!
Tough choice! I am leaning towards the Baton Rouge location… Haven’t made it to Louisiana yet and would love to! But I’ve also always wanted to go to Denver…
I’d pick Denver, I think.
I would most likely pick Savannah.
Savannah!
I want to go to Savannah…I’d love an excuse.
A weekend away sounds absolutely fabulous right about now!
Sounds like a fun excuse for a weekend away. I’m in. Thanks for asking them, Kristen.
Hello,
I have stayed at Cambria Suites in Boise a couple of times –great hotels–great value…Denver if I win
I have always wanted to visit San Antonio!
Minneapolis! Always wanted to go there! Pick me pick me!
I would definately pick Baton Rouge…or maybe Columbus Ohio…very different, but very important to me. Please let the random picker pick me!
Definitely Savannah, because it’s amazing! After saving for my wedding, this would be a welcome treat!
I would want to try out Colorado, love to get to one of their ski slopes!
I would go to Colorado for sure!
I was going to pick somewhere that would get me out of the snowy, cold weather, but now that I see there’s one in Bloomington, MN, I’m thinking shopping is just as good, if not better, than warm weather! Watch out Mall of America!
Please pick me! I’d love to stay in the new Pittsburgh location when it opens up … or the San Antonio location depending on when the deal would expire … or perhaps one of the NC locations? Any opportunity for a free getaway for us newlyweds would be welcome!
Ooh, this is amazing! I can only hope to get lucky! I would definitely pick Savannah, wouldn’t even have to think about it. I’ve always had an obsession to visit Savannah. I’d like to think there was a better reason for it, but truth to be told it probably started when I was in my early teens watching the series called Savannah (which only lasted for one season so it was probably rubbish but I didn’t know that cause I was a kid).
It must be awesome to be able to give these kind of things to your readers!
Seriously? AWESOME. SIGN ME UP.
Wait a minute, is there a San Fran location? Then it would be all Sarahcentric/Camels & Chocolate party! East meets West!
-Sarah
Would love to check out the one in Savannah!
Denver, CO! Fo sho!
Definitely Savannah! It’s on my list of ‘places to see’ and I’d love a break from the cold and the snow!
Savannah…I am broke and miss the south!

I just tweeted about it too!
Please pick me! I really need a vacation from all this pregnancy business! Maybe I can whisk my Dear Husband, Dear Daughter, and Dearly Newborn to Savannah, Georgia!!! I’d love to visit Savannah, Georgia…kinda get that Gone With The Wind feel…LOL! Dear Random.org, please pick me!!
that looks awesome! savannah please– i’ve always wanted to visit (and i live in atlanta! this would be the perfect reason!)
Awesome giveaway! I think the Texas one would be fun to check out, I’ve never been there.
I’d like to go to Savannah or San Antonio! I’ve never been to either state, and I am long overdue for vacation!
So many choices! Hmm, I’d have to say either somewhere in the south-east (GA, NC, FL) or somewhere closer to home (Denver or Boise, maybe?)
Anyway, tomorrow’s my burfday, so pick me, Random.org!
I tweeted it too…
(I’m really gunning to win this thing…Come to mama!)
ooh, any of CO or NC look amazing! if u pick me, u will be doing an act of mercy 4 this SAHM of 2 kids who hasn’t had a vaca in over 2 (or is it 3?) yrs. $$ sooo tight.
Mama needs a vaca! Mama needs a vaca! (shall I keep going?) no, huh? K.

I would loooove to visit Savannah! This mama definitely needs a vaca as well! I haven’t taken a trip with my partner for the longest time! Please help me make that happen for us! You can come stay in Phoenix, AZ while we are on our trip!
Oooh this chain sounds super great! Your room looked so awesome! I would love to stay at the Pueblo, Colorado location. I’m hoping to plan a little road trip this year and that city would make a perfect stop!
http://twitter.com/sarahmariep/status/8970412239
Tweet tweet!
Hmmm – tough choices… should I win it would be for a BabyMoon

Tweeted for a bonus chance! Fingers crossed
ooh! my husband and i would *love* to visit savannah
Yes, yes, yes!
My husband and I have been married for over a year and haven’t been able to afford a honeymoon- we’d pick somewhere sunny to get out of the gloom in Oregon this time of year. I’m crossing my fingers and toes!
I would pick Savannah GA for the PERFECT girlfriend getaway weekend!!!!!!!! Sounds awesome!
Double or nothing: I just tweeted
Texas, if you please!
Denver, as we’re contemplating moving there and need to visit and check it out!
Savannah! For the food, fun, sun and hospitality!

Savannah, as it seems the most likely to help me get my mind off of being an overworked and disillusioned lawyer girl.
Also – I miss you Ms. Luna.
Savannah, GA! Will give me a another reason to finally visiting the area!
It’s a toss up between Savannah and Denver, never been to Denver but Savannah is so gorgeous…pick me!!
I would pick Madison, WI to go visit my best friend and her family!
I would pick San Antonio, I haven’t been to the Riverwalk in a long time.
I am so torn! I would pick either Raleigh/Durham where I spent a lot time in my college years and have great memories or Savannah, b/c it’s got to be warmer there than in the frosty midwest!
I would pick San Antonio. We always go to the Riverwalk for our anniversary coming up on April.
Me! Me! Me!! I want to go somewhere. Anywhere:)
I would pick Savannah! And, I’m tweeting
savannah please!
I’d go to Fort Collins, CO. Delicious beers everywhere. And I tweeted it.
I’d go to Aurora. Not sure why, but it looks nice.
-K
Wow, what an awesome giveaway!
I would choose Savannah – I have never been there and have always wanted to visit.
Thanks for considering me!
