So Apparently This Just Happened

I honestly never thought I would be nominated for a Bloggie, let alone win two straight years in a row. Especially up against other awesome and influential bloggers like The Vacation Gals, A Traveler’s Library, Go Backpacking (who, as it turns out, I will be going backpacking with in Rwanda in two weeks!) and Internet heavyweight Everything Everywhere.
Thanks to all of you who voted or who simply stick around to see me meet my arch nemesis, the shark, in the Caribbean, get nailed by a cab in Finland, temporarily lose my mind as I hurl myself out of a plane at 13,000 feet, get up close and personal with camels in Israel, or (as is more often the case) struggle my way through one period of stress after another (today, this week, this month, the whole of this winter). This gives me the swift kick in the bedonka-donk that I need to step up my game and provide you with even better travel content. And maybe a little wedding indulgence on the side because, let’s be honest, I’m still human. And stationary at (occasional and infrequent) times.

Congratulations! I’m not surprised Kristin. Your blog rocks my world. Oh and I have a post coming up one of these days (or weeks, who am I kidding) about the map my boyfriend and I have in my apartment where we put pins in the locations we want to visit, but your recent post about Macau landed a pin right in that spot on the map. Congratulations! Honestly, I could not agree more; every single time I’ve gone to SF, I’ve consulted your site (and your site only, I might add) for recommendations. Umm, Bourbon & Branch? Yeah, like my favorite place ever. And then when I was there a couple weekends ago for my birthday, we made a stop at Top of the Mark which was gorgeous (not to mention it totally reminded me of Top of the Hyatt in San Diego – where we recently moved from – bringing back some memories.) Anyway! Congrats again; you deserve it!

Congratulations! You absolutely deserve it because your writing is always fun, funny, and fresh. If I tell you that you’re an inspiration, that sounds quite cheesy and I try not to indulge in too much of that (really bad for the waist, you know) . . . but, as it turns out, you are because you put out great content all the time about the most random stuff and keep challenging the rest of us to be better writers.
